Naturally, women appear to be more strict and protective of the collectives interests than their men who are often corrupted by their old boys network. Names like Margaret Thatcher (Uk), Golda Meir (Israel), Evita Perion (Argentina), Queen Victoria come to mind.

In Nigeria, we have had Dora Akunyili, Funlayo Kuti, Amina of Zaria and Efunsetan that went against the status quo.

It is an open secret that Diezani Allison-Madueke’s actions brought down GEJ’s government. The first female director of any major oil company probably had an axe to grind with them, but her decisions were patriotic to raise royalties and taxes, retrieve foreign owned wells for Nigerians like Kola Aluko, her forceful increase of the Nigerians participation at all levels of the oil industry.

Ngozi Iweala did not blindly follow her IMF employers economic policies of selling cheap to the West but facilitated turning to China.

Despite the non issue of allegedly over-inflated bulletproof cars bought by an agency under her, Stella Oduah made the most significant airport renovations ever made by any single aviation minster.

Obviously the women offended powerful interests that put pressure on their foreman, General Obasanjo. Obasanjo in turn put pressure on GEJ who threw up his hands, instead of defending them robustly.

Mama Peace was the one that dared to directly confront the issue of Chibok girls in public, when GEJ suspected it was a ploy to discredit the government.

All these incidents led to the infamous Obasanjo quote that the Women controlled the clueless GEJ government. Stella was forced to resign, Ngozi was abused and the worse was reserved for Diezani, who they attempted to kidnap and was the target of the multi-billion. NNPC corruption scandal still not proven 2yrs after the allegation!

Till date she is still the most maligned politician accused of being a thief and a slut. Away from unsubstantiated corruption rumors, reports say she is battling cancer, probably caught from plutonium poison usually administered to anti-US interests.

Ultimately when history is to be told, it would be clear that when push came to shove Nigerian men failed to stand up for the women fighting for their interests.

Men like Obasanjo, Buhari, IBB that have got their hands dirty since 1966 and couldn’t say no to their Western handlers. GEJ that rode on the back of militants to power but couldn’t put up a fight. Professor Soyinka of renown literary skills that would rather take on, Mama peace, the lowest denominator of the Women gang that dared to communicate her opinions to her peers.

We might continue to get arrested development until we have a President with balls, a strong woman!
