Politics, ethnicity and every other sentiment aside, Nigeria’s economic and political development has sadly been arrested by the ruling party. Figures dont lie. Our Gross Domestic Production (GDP) in 2014, the last full year of President Jonathan, was $574 billion and when APC came into power it wiped off $200b by 2017, and in 8yrs we have not been able to achieve the 2014 level, as 2023 GDP is estimated to grow to $506 billion.

Despite the propaganda of corruption and too much imports, there is ample proof that our economy was deliberately sabotaged by deliberately destablizing our forex system, to advantage of Northern currency speculators. The ruling party brought about the greatest disinvestment since the civil war.
The ruling party APC has also arrested our political development, starting with a series of inconclusive elections, and ultimately the sham of 2023 elections, in which they attempting to perpetuate themselves in power despite their dismal performance.

Socially, our social cohesion and coexistence has worsen, first with the Fulani herdsmen and Northern kidnappers, and finally with the widening of the Yoruba-Igbo divide with anti-Igbo rhetoric and voter suppression. Some say Nigeria has not been this divided since the civil war.

The issue is how do Nigerians free themselves from this predatory exploitative fascist government that has also compromised the Judiciary.

The Youth rose in protest with the EndSars protests but the government used unsavory means to disrupt and derail the movement with political thugs. The Youth then decided to place their hope in the Obidient Movement for Peter Obi, the available best of the political class, but they were beaten and disenfranchised by APC thugs and institutional forces.

Due to the reality of a corrupted Judiciary, Datti Ahmed made it clear that if the Judiciary doesn’t do the rightful thing, it would be the end of Nigerias democracy. APC apologists and the likes of Prof Soyinka labelled it fascist or inciting, since they benefited from the status quo.

There is now a climate of despondency due to the economic stagnation and political despair. Based on trends, it is clear that this won’t continue. As the saying goes, those who prevent natural peaceful change leave no option apart from violent change. It is nearly certain that a revolution is brewing.

If Tinubu successfully gets away with the electoral robbery, he can do no better than the Buhari government that he brought to power. The Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was constitutionally in charge of the economy, Fowler was in charge of tax revenue, Kemi Adeosun was the finance minister, Fashola was in charge of Power, Works and Housing, yet they were an integral part of the historic failures. Maybe a focused intelligent leqder could be the issue, but from Tinubu’s statements of printing more money to resolve our economic problems, it shows that he is a graduate of Idi Amin school of economic failure. He is also known to bully his way into every lucrative deal, so he is bound to hamper the private sector.

Therefore, unless the Judiciary reverses the electoral sham, there would surely be a revolution soon, the very latest by 2026.
